Besides the weather, the Chinese new year of Tet is celebrated all over Vietnam in late January or early February. During this time, transport options are filled up quickly and lots of restaurants and tourist sites are closed. Therefore, it is not recommended for Vietnam vacations at this time. However, if you spend your vacation in Vietnam this time, a two or three day overnight trip to Halong bay will highlight your lifetime luxury travel.
