Tien Son cave
[Edit]
Discovered in April 1935, the cave was originally given a name of Dong Tien meaning Fairy cave due to its marvelous beauty inside. Then it has been called Dry cave to distinguish from the Phong Nha water cave. Situated at an altitude of 200 m, this cave has a length of 980 m. There is a 10 m deep abyss 400 m from the entry mouth. Then comes a 500 m long underground cave which is rather dangerous for walking. At present, tourists are able to get access to the 400 m of the cave which has been installed lighting system. Like Phong Nha cave, it has numerous magnificent stalactites and stalagmites of various sizes and shapes inside. Besides, Tien Son cave owns additional special feature of echoing sounds similar to those of gond and drum produced from stalgamites when being slightly knocked. Though located next to each other, Phong Nha and Tien Son caves don't link with each other. Tien Son cave is always open to welcome tourists to discover its miraculous hidden beauty.
