Pia pastry consisting of various ingredients is processed carefully right at the stage of choosing materials. Durians selected must come from Vinh Long Province to have small seeds, thick pulps and sweet taste. Green peas are ground well leaving starch. Eggs must be salted in a bare time in order not to let the yolk too salted. Then a little larch is added when filling the pastry. After that, the cake is produced in a rounded-shape made by wheat flour after being roasted in an oven. It is mixed distinctive ingredients that help create sweet, greasy and savory tastes for the pastry much impressing many tourists. Normally, each packet of Pia consists of four cakes sold in many bakeries in Soc Trang Province. Pia pastry is now not only famed nationwide but in many countries around the world. It is advised for tourists not to miss a chance of giving a try with this tasty delicacy.
