Situated in the North-East region of Vietnam, Ha Long Bay is accessible by several ways from cities in the south and the north.

From Ha Noi to Ha Long:

Ha Noi is 170km from Ha Long; therefore, tourists can go to Ha Long on the National Road 18A or 10 by buses, trains or planes. There are high-quality buses from Gia Lam station to Ha Long with 20 minutes/trip. It takes about 3 hours 15 minutes to reach the destination. If going by trains, there is one train trip departed from Yen Vien railway station at 5h15 everyday to serve tourists. Travelers can also visit Ha Long by Northern Service Flight Company's helicopter departed from Gia Lam airport (Hanoi).

 

From Ho Chi Minh City and provinces in the south to Ha Long:

Travelers can go to Ha Noi by roads, railways or airlines, then paying a visit to Ha Long from Ha Noi City by ways mentioned above.

 

From Northern provinces such as Hai Phong, Cat Ba to Ha Long:

It is very convenient to go to Ha Long from Hai Phong City as the distance between these two places is only 75km. Everyday, there are buses from Hai Phong to Ha Long within 2 hours. From Cat Ba to Ha Long, tourists can go by the high-speed air-condition Thong Nhat Boat leaving daily from Hai Phong to Cat Ba.
